Ceramica

Yesterday Louie, Rachel and I all went to Ceramica. It was a cold, rainy day so we were limited to what we were able to do. First we went out to breakfast at Dennys and then decided that it was time for something fun, so after taking a short break at home we all loaded up and headed over to paint some pottery. Rachel made a super cute little unicorn box, Louie made a set of coasters, and I made a set of measuring cups AND a plate. See- louie and Rachel had some things they had to take care of over at Rachel's grandparents house, SO while they were off doing that I finished my cups and made a plate. =)

Here are the fruits of our labor:

Sno-Cones

We LOVE sno-cones...I mean love them. There is a little place that sells them pretty close to our house so we are there quite frequently. Anyways, they opened up for the season a few weeks ago and of course we had to stop in ASAP! Here are some pics of the first sno-cone of the year! :)

Flags

Louie and I went to dinner at Bardenay in Eagle last week and after dinner we decided to take a little stroll on the path behind Bardenay. I have no idea where we ended up but we wound up in some park with all these flags set up for people in the army and stuff.

California Dreaming

I'm SOOOOOO excited!!! In a little over two weeks Louie and I are flying down to California for a week. His parents have a house in Buena Park which is only about 45 minutes outside of LA.  We will stay with his parents for a few days and then get a hotel for the rest of the time we are there. I have NEVER been down to southern California so of course I want to do all the stuff that tourists typically do, and lucky for me, Louie is a doll and is putting up with me and letting me do all the childish things I desire.

He likes to fly by the seat of his pants and just do whatever comes up,where as I am a planner and like to have things all figured out and paid for before we get there....SO,  we are meeting in the middle and planning out a few days and leaving a few blank for now. So far on the agenda are some goodies though-

MEDIEVAL TIMES:
This is in Buena Park, not too far from his parents house. One day we are going to just chill and hang out around town, maybe go visit some of Louie's peeps. That night we are going to have dinner at Medieval times. For those of you not familiar with it, basically it is a dinner theatre type thing where everything is from the Medieval times. The show has knights jousting and stuff like that and you are served a meal that you eat completely with your fingers. I've been in Dallas and Florida, but Louie has never been, so it will be fun for him to at least get to do one thing he has never done before,

KNOTTS BERRY FARM:
Whati s there to say about this. i'm STOKED! I'm ready to ride some rides! This is also in Buena Park and only like 2 miles from his parents house. We are going to have a ton of fun!

DISNEY LAND:
At first we weren't going to go to Disney Land because I've been to Disney World several times and he has been to Disney Land several times, but since I've never been to Disney Land we decided to go. It's crazy to go all the way down there and not go. Now I'm really excited to get to go!

AMTRACK:
I am crazy excited for this too. Amtrack has trains that run down the Pacific coast line. So we are going to ride it from Irvine down to San Diego and spend the day down there checking things out. At first we were going to go to the zoo, and then we were talking about Sea World, but we both decided to just take the day and walk around and really get to see San Diego.
We will be gone from 6/11 to 6/18 and it is not coming up soon enough!!! I'm going going back back to Cali Cali......except not really! :p

Mothers Day with Bella

Bella had a Mothers Day tea party at her school. Luckily I was able to go- I had to pull in some favors at work, but it all worked out. It was so cute. She was so excited to get to do her little presentation and stuff. It melts your heart.

Caramel Corn/ Popcorn Balls

I got this recipe from a lady at work named Shirley. It seriously makes the best caramel corn/popcorn balls. Enjoy!

3/4 c sugar
3/4 c brown sugar
1/2 c light corn syrup
1/2 c water
1 tsp white vinegar
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 c butter

Combine all ingredients except butter in medium saucepan.
Heat to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly.
Cook to 260 degrees on candy thermometer, or until a small drop in cold water forms a hard ball.
Reduce heat, add butter and stir until melted.
Pour sauce over 3 bags of popped popcorn, Shirley uses Orville Redenbauchers Movie Time Popcorn.
Stir and serve, or form into balls.
