Cookie Jar

Today Louis and I were out and about looking around at all sorts of stuff and found this little beauty at Cost Plus or World Market or whatever hybrid there of. We were just talking about wanting a cookie jar the other day cuz I made a monster batch of chocolate chip cookies, and we both LOVE Halloween and we both super liked this and couldn't resist it.  We had stopped at Barnes and Noble to grab a coffee and just look around a bit and decided to head over there to look to desks and lamps for the new house- they were just setting up their Halloween decor and had just put them up on a shelf. We didn't get a desk OR a lamp, but did end up with this, so I'm pleased as punch! :P

Easter 2012

Sorry this pictures are like 2 weeks late. Here are just a few photos from Easter this year.

They were at their dads house so as soon as they got here..they were ready to see what the Easter Bunny had left them.

Then it was time to clean up a little bit to go out and about.

We all had brunch at the Owhyee Plaza Hotel...it was DELICIOUS!

After brunch the girls went back with their dad for a while. They went to Camel's Back Park and climbed the hill and played for a while..it was such a nice day!

After the park, they came back to my house for Easter Dinner and an Easter Egg Hunt.

They had a good time. Happy Easter everyone.

St. Patrick's Day Crafty Decorations

I love to decorate for the holidays!! St. Patrick's Day is often over looked...most people only know it exists because once a year everyone gets to pretend to be Irish and drink green beer. BUT, I think there's a lot more to St. Partrick's Day. It's fun to think about the leprechauns and pots of gold. The Irish folk lores and the mystery surrounding some of the old traditions.

This year, like in years past, I have made a few decorations to add to the collection. I like hand made decorations so much better than store bought. For one- it's a ton of fun to make the stuff, and second, it's unique. You know that no where in the world does someone have exactly what you made. Sense of pride people!!! :o)

Here are a few pictures of things that I have made and the decorating for St. Paddy's Day.
This is the leprechaun trap that Louie and I made. It's super cute. I need to put the ladder and sign up, but little hands keep messing them up. I didn't make the mat it's on....it's cute though. :)

Super cute banner that hangs between the dining room and living room entry way. Erin Go Bragh means "Ireland Forever".

This sign is from like 4 years ago, but it's held up so it stays.

Same for this sign. BUT, I don't really have anything else that says St. Patrick's Day on it, so even though it's a little boring, I like it.

A banner I made. It's hanging in the entry way right now, but need to get a different hanger for it so that I can move it outside.

This sign is in the entrry way and every month and or holiday the middle piece can change.

This is a rag wreath I made in the shape of a shamrock obviously. All the fabric is St. Patrick's Day patters with clovers and stuff. It turned out even better than I had hoped.

I obviously didn't make t his kitchen towel, but it's part of the decoration so I decided to add it! :)

Christmas Eve

I had the most awesome Christmas Eve this year. It was a small gathering of people- just mis padres, my auntie Shan, and Louie and me. Shannon lives in Alaska and brought some king crab legs down with her. So for dinner we all stuffed ourselves on some delectable crab legs....I had never had them before....and honestly will probably never have them again- I wasn't a big fan BUT everyone else was, so who am I to ruin the fun. After we ate we all just sat around and chilled out for a bit, and then Louie and I headed home to just hang out the two of us and exchange our Christmas presents to each other. It was AWESOME.

The girls went with Jason to Mountain Home to do Christmas Eve with his family. They were all having a large gathering and we both decided that it would be good for the girls to be able to go. They had an awesome time, but unfortunately I don't have any pictures of it. That part of their family is always so good to them, so I'm thankful they were able to join in their celebrations. :)

Christmas

On Christmas, Jason came over along with my parents and Aunt Shannon and we all watched the girls open their presents. The girls got all sorts of things including the famed Nintendo DS and Leapster that they had both been begging santa for. After we opened presents it was off to my Aunt Stephanies house in Oregon to spend the day there. We had a great time. The food was delicious and the company was even better.
